Birthday Party Planning

Looks like it's time to start thinking about Larsen's second birthday! Wow, where does the time go? It seriously feels like this kiddo just turned one!! Last year, we didn't really do a theme. There were lots of bright colors and stripes and polka dots on his cake. His party was held at the park and we had great weather.




This year, we are going with a monkey theme. We don't have a large family, so our parties are usually pretty small, but I still like planning things and making everything just right. A lady I work with is going to make these monkey cupcakes and I'm having a little t-shirt made for him to wear. We are getting family pictures and Larsen's two year old pictures taken next weekend and our photographer is making adorable monkey birthday invitations. I also like this theme:

One hurdle overcome

Sunday, June 27 was my EDD with my first loss. It's so surreal to think that I *should* have a newborn baby right now. On Sunday, I kept thinking about how different my life and Larsen's life would be if we did have a new baby. My baby boy would have to grow up in some ways, and I don't know if I'm ready for that. Do I wish I was taking care of a newborn today? You bet I do, but maybe, it will be better that Larsen will be older when he gets a sibling. I guess things happen for a reason...what reason, you ask? I'm not sure...

Since that date has passed, I feel like a little weight has been lifted off of me. I don't have it looming over my head. Of course, there is another date coming up in December, but God willing, I might be expecting once that rolls around.
